Perry Little League awarded $7,600 grant from 100+ People

The Perry Little League was awarded $7,600 Monday by the 100+ People for Perry group.

The 100+ People for Perry donors club held its 17th session of local giving Monday and pledged $7,600 to the Perry Little League project.

After Brent Halling, board member of the Raccoon River Pet Rescue, presented a summary of November’s winning project, the 100+ People for Perry chose the little league as February’s winner.

After more than four years of giving, the 100+ People for Perry group has pledged $118,300 to 17 local projects.

One Hundred+ People for Perry’s mission is to invest in Perry’s future by supporting current charities, non-profits and other worthy projects that advance the quality of life. According to the donors club guidelines, a charity, non-profit or worthy project that is selected will be ineligible for reconsideration for three consecutive meetings following its selection.

The 100+ People for Perry group makes four large donations each year, and each gift stays 100 percent in the local community. No national charities are be considered. Each recipient must be a 501 (c)(3) or sponsored by a 501 (c)(3), be project based and must benefit the Perry community.

All community members are welcome to attend, and new projects worth considering are always welcome.

The next  100+ People for Perry meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m., with a social hour starting at 6:30 p.m., at the La Poste LLC.
