Last year 137 players registered to compete on 14 teams across five different levels in the Perry Little League.

The Perry Middle School gym attracted a large crowd Saturday, as family and friends were on hand for the opening ceremonies of the Perry Little League.

Each team and their members were introduced, with many youngsters tipping their hat in traditional baseball style. This year some 137 youngsters will fill six T-ball teams, four Rookie League squads, two Minor and one Major League and one Junior League teams.

T-ball and Rookie teams are all in Perry, with the two Perry Minor League teams joined by three squads from Granger, three from Madrid and one from Woodward. Two Granger and two Madrid units will join one Perry team in the Majors, with the Juniors consisting of Perry, Southeast Polk/Pleasant Hill, Beaver Creek, two Saydel teams and four squads from Ankeny.

Daniel Hill provided an excellent acapella rendition of the National Anthem after the introductions, and later threw out the ceremonial First Pitch, with Conner Eppert on the receiving end.

Schedules, coaches and contacts, teams and more information can be found on the Perry Little League website.
