The Perry Little League Board of Directors announced Friday the cancellation of the 2020 summer season due to the novel coronavirus global pandemic.

The directors said there is still some hope they will conduct a baseball clinic “if and when the situation allows” this summer.

The board issued to following statement to its players, coaches, families and sponsors:

It is with great disappointment, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Perry Little League season. We have been in communication with the representatives from Little League District 3, Beaver Creek League and the City of Perry and feel this is in the best interest of our student-athletes and their families.

Players: Thank you for your interest and excitement in our program. Stay tuned for a possible baseball clinic if and when the situation allows. Keep working hard and participating in every sport you can.

Coaches: Thank you for your eagerness to help build the Perry Baseball Program. We will communicate a date to turn in your equipment.

Families: Thank you for your support of our student-athletes. We will refund your registration dues. If you signed up via SportsConnect, the registration dues will be placed back on your debit/credit card. If you signed up in person, we will mail you a physical check.

Sponsors: Thank you for the generous and consistent support of the youth in our community. Our youth programs are not possible without you. We will contact you directly in the coming weeks.

Please look for future communication regarding possible baseball clinics and registrations for next season. Please email admin@perryll.com with questions.
