The Perry Lutheran Homes will host a chili/soup fundraiser luncheon for the public at its Eden Acres campus at 1300 28th St. in Perry (formerly the Rowley Masonic Home) on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a short program at 1 p.m.

Guests will enjoy chili, soups and homemade desserts along with a special highlight in the unveiling of a new mural wall, an original work of art by Perry’s own Betsy Peterson, who will share her reasons for being involved in this project and how the mural was created.

Partners whose gifts support the care of our community’s older adults will also be revealed and celebrated as their names are added to the wall, and new partners will have the opportunity to do the same.

With COVID-19 regulations now relaxed, residents at Perry Lutheran Homes are excited to further connect with the community. And what better way to do that than with warm soup on a chilly day? In addition to enjoying great food and fellowship, guests at the 1 p.m. program will hear from residents and their family members, staff, and donors about how partner dollars are impacting the lives of so many each and every day.

Children from Acorns and Oaks Intergenerational Christian Daycare are looking forward excitedly to singing Christmas songs to kick off the program. Attendees will also learn about what’s new at Perry Lutheran Homes.

“It’s been a challenging couple of years, with the COVID-19 pandemic, a derecho and the acquisition of Eden Acres Campus,” said Melissa Gannon, COO and administrator of Perry Lutheran Homes, “but we are ready to celebrate the many blessings and reasons to give thanks. We want the community to come to see all the good things that are happening here as they are vital partners in the care that our older men and women need and receive each day.”

Guests can also meet and greet daily devotion authors Dave and Sarah, sign up to receive or deliver Meals on Wheels, learn about rehabilitative therapy partners, Bluestone Therapy, tour Eden Acres Campus assisted living apartments and more.

No ticket or registration is required to attend this event. Gifts to support the care of our community’s older adults, including those receiving Meals on Wheels, are welcome and appreciated.
