A Perry man was arrested Friday after allegedly choking a woman in the course of a domestic dispute.

Marshall Colton Gilbert, 32, of 516 Clearview Dr., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing injury.

According to court records, the incident occurred about 8 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Clearview Drive.

The victim told officers of the Perry Police Department that Gilbert allegedly “busted down the door that she was behind and threw her on the bed,” telling “her to ‘calm down’ while keeping her pinned to the bed and choking her,” according to court records.

Gilbert allegedly “admitted to throwing her on the bed, pinning her down and choking her,” according to court records, and the victim’s roommate told officers that she saw Gilbert “assault and choke” the victim.

Officers observed on the victim a “red mark on her neck and a red mark to her right wrist,” according to court records.

Gilbert is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 27 in Dallas County District Court.
