A Perry man was arrested Sunday after brawling with his wife Saturday night.
Jeffery Joseph Cechovic, 38, of 2209 Otley Ave., Perry, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault-aggravated.
The incident began Saturday about 8 p.m., when officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of Otley Avenue.
Cechovic “had already left the scene in a vehicle” when officers arrived, but the victim told the officers that an argument occurred and in the course of the argument, Cechovic “ended up on the ground on top of the victim and wouldn’t let her up,” according to court records.
The victim sustained “an injury to the right side of her lower lip,” and Cechovic “also spit in her face,” according to court records.
Cechovic is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 11 in Dallas County District Court.
Cechovic was convicted of assault in 2017 in Dallas County District Court.
