Perry man arrested on assault, interference charges Tuesday

A Perry man was arrested for assault Tuesday night after allegedly twisting the wrist of a woman, and later he allegedly resisted arrest by deputies.

Ricky Dean Glass, 53, of 820 18th St., Perry, was charged with assault and interference with official acts.

The incident began about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 12700 block of Knox Trail in rural Perry, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of assault.

According to court records, Glass allegedly assaulted the female victim “by grabbing her wrist, causing serious pain.”

During the course of the investigation by law enforcement, Glass allegedly “was non-complaint and did not listen to commands from the officers,” according to court records, and he allegedly “refused to get in the back of the patrol car.”

Glass is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $600 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance Wednesday in Dallas County District Court.

Glass was convicted of assault in 1997 in Dallas County District Court, and he was convicted of assault in 2006 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is innocent until and unless proven guilty.
