A Perry man missing since June 22 was found safe and sound Sunday and living in a Grimes motel.
The Polk County Sheriff’s office informed the Perry Police Department about 4 p.m. Sunday that a Polk County deputy located Ronald Kelvin Johnson, who was reported missing in June by his family in Perry.
Johnson “appears to be doing well,” according to the Polk County report. Johnson told the deputy he has been “staying at hotels around the metro” over the last 10 weeks and would spend Sunday night in the Urbandale Econo Lodge.
According to the deputy’s report, Johnson said “he didn’t take either of his cell phones when he left Perry, so he doesn’t have a contact number,” but he assured the deputy he would “contact the Perry PD or his family in Perry to speak with them and let them know how he’s doing.”
The Perry police report said Johnson was “cleared from the system” as a missing person following the Polk County report, and his family was told he was found.
