Perry fell to host Ogden Friday in their second outing of the football season.

The first victory of a still young season was recorded by the Perry volleyball team Thursday as the Jayettes hosted their own tourney. Earlham topped Nodaway Valley for top honors at the event.

Earlham topped Perry in the first pool play game for either squad. The Cardinals won game one, 21-17, but the Jayettes were 21-19 winners in game two, forcing a third game which Earlham claimined, 15-11.

Perry was a 21-18, 21-13 winner over Des Moines East, with Nodaway Valley edging the Jayettes, 21-18, 21-16.

Ashley Cerna had a team-best 17 combined kills in the tourney, with Kathryn West and Jayna Kenney each having 10 kills. Peyton Tunink made eight kills and Callie Steva six, with Maci Tunink posting two kills.

Taylor Atwell led the hosts with 25 assists, with Kenney providing 19. Steva, Peyton Tunink, and Addison Huntington had two kills apiece, with Maci Tunink and Cerna having one each.

Atwell was 17-18-3 and Huntington 13-13-1 behind the line, with West 13-14-1 and Cerna 11-16-3. West was a perfect 11-of-11, with Kenney 12-of-13.
