Perry, other schools to start two hours late Tuesday morning

The Perry schools will have a two-hour late start on Tuesday, Jan. 21, Perry Community School District Superintendent Clark Wicks announced Monday evening.

The will be no morning preschool, Wicks said, and PACES will begin at 8 a.m.

St. Patrick Catholic School will also start two hours late, Principal Kandice Pattillo announced.

Other schools in the PCSD area that will start two hours late Tuesday include Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District, Madrid Community School District, Ogden Community School District, Panorama Community School District, Urbandale Community School District and Woodward Community School District.

The National Weather Service office in Johnston has issued a cold weather advisory in effect until noon Tuesday, with wind chills temperatures of 20 to 30 below zero expected.
