The Perry Police Department announced Friday the hiring of its newest member: Officer Alexander Lott.
Lott graduated Friday after completing his training at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Lott was also selected as a captain for his class, and he spoke at the graduation ceremonies. The speech is available on Facebook.
“Be humble,” Lott told his fellow law enforcement officers, “and remember that through everything that’s been going on, all the evil, there’s always a light. Be that light that makes a positive difference within your communities.”
In his graduation speech, Lott acknowledged “the families of our officers” and said, “We are forever grateful for your constant support and your encouragement.” Lott is the son of Lori Lott of Perry.
