Officers of the Perry Police Department took a man into custody shortly after 11 p.m. Friday outside the Hotel Pattee at 1112 Willis Ave. in downtown Perry.

Authorities were summoned by hotel staff when the suspect allegedly began disturbing hotel guests. Hotel sources told ThePerryNews.com the man was intoxicated and became belligerent when refused further service in the Interurban Lounge.

After initially refusing requests to leave the premises, the suspect left on foot, hotel sources said.

Police were initially unable to locate the man, but he was eventually detained outside the front entrance to the hotel. He was taken into custody without incident after apparently failing a field sobriety test.
