April 16, 2018

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his bicycle was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone called and “told her she had vouchers ready at the food pantry. She called the food pantry, and they denied having vouchers.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone damaged her windshield.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she “received a call from the IRS saying she owes them $3,000 and has a warrant out for her arrest.” The caller said she “purchased two Google cards” and “did provide the code for one of the cards.” An officer responded and “advised her to contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s office due to jurisdiction.”
  • A caller said “there was a check fraud that has occurred at” a local bank. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported someone driving while barred. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she just saw someone jump over the back of the fence.” An officer responded and made contact with the homeowner, who said his son “had forgotten his front door house key.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone was in his house, “and he wants him out of his house.” Officers responded and found the unwanted person “was not there.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “one of the tenants that is staying” in her rental property “needed to leave.” An officer responded, and the woman “was advised of the eviction process.”
  • A caller said her cell phone was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a dumpster diver behind her apartment building.” Officers responded, made contact with the rummager and “advised him not to be digging through the dumpster.” The rummager “left before officers could give him back his Mexico ID.”

April 17, 2018

  • A caller reported “an injured deer in the ditch.” The Boone County Sheriff’s office was notified.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
