April 18, 2018

  • A caller asked to borrow “an animal trap for a stray cat.” An officer responded, and someone “came by and picked up the trap for his neighbor.”
  • The manager of an in-home daycare center requested extra patrol after she received a call from someone “asking if his kid is in daycare.” The caller said “she is aware that there is a no-contact order with the mom and child.” The caller sahe she “would like officers to keep an eye out.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller requested a welfare check for his ex, whom he is concerned about.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported her roommates are arguing.” Officers responded, and the disputants “agreed to keep their distance for the rest of the day.”
  • A caller reported a suspicious customer who “picks up products and sets them down.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “the neighbor across the street has a pirate flag in the tree.” The caller “thought perhaps the tree crew could take it down.” Officers were advised.
  • Stephen Emerson of 1602 W. Third St. was issued a citation for first-offense unlawful passing of school bus.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said her son went to her rental property “and frightened the tenant.” The woman said the tenany “is no longer welcome on the property,” but she is “concerned about talking to him alone.” An officer responded and determined the rental property in question was “out n the county.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notifed, and a deputy sheriff responded.
  • A caller said someone “punched and possibly broke a television in her home.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Polk County office of the Iowa Department of Human Services reported a case of “possible sexual abuse.” An officer responded A “case file was created” and an investigation begun.
  • Teresa Wilkinson of 2715 Eastern Ave. was issued a citation for second-offense dogs at large.
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.

April 19, 2018

  • A caller said “she was receiving threatening text messages.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his wife had slapped him and is going ‘crazy.'” An officer “responded and separated the parties until Boone County deputies arrived and took over the investigation.”
  • A caller said her daughter “told her police officers had been to the daycare.” The caller said she was “concerned about taking her daughter back in case” some estranged parents “were having some type of domestic.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
