August 13, 2018

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “requested a welfare check on his brother,” who “he believes is intoxicated and was last seen at Soumas Court.” Officers responded but did not find the brother, but “they will keep an eye on him.”
  • A caller said a 16-year-old boy “was only supposed to stay at the house where she is staying at for one night,” and “he has been there for a week, and she no longer wants him there.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “that she pulled up in her driveway” and “stepped out of the vehicle to have a cigarette” when “the neighbor came out and pointed her phone at her like she was recording her actions.” The caller said “she is upset that her neighbor is doing this and feels like she is being harassed.” An officer responded and made contact with the neighbor, who said she “was on the phone” and was not recording the caller’s actions.
  • A caller said “he was pulling out of the carwash” and “went too wide and hit a box.” An officer responded and made contact with the cable television company to inform them “that the box was damaged.”
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his son’s mother-in-law.” An officer responded and learned through inquiries the mother-in-law “is in the hospital.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “she wanted to get some help but was not sure what to do.” An officer responded and directed the woman to the Dallas County Hospital “for further assistance.”
  • A caller said he lost his state-issued identification.
  • A caller said “that her son was out in Boone County, and someone was  threatening him if she did not bring out the money due to a drug deal.” The caller was transferred to the Boone County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller reported a found cell phone. An officer responded.
  • A caller said his girlfriend lost her cell phone.
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded.
  • A caller said her “boyfriend took a bunch of pills earlier and mixed them with alcohol.” Officers responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A caller said “there are two people outside” the house “with flashlights.” An officer responded but did not find the suspicious people with flashlights.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “requested help in finding shelters in Des Moines.” An officer responded.

August 14, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered three people “who were camping near the tree line.” The officer “advised them to register by 8 a.m. if they intend to stay or to have their things packed up by 8 a.m.” One of the campers “came in and registered for one day.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller “reported a line down on his car.” The call said he “believed it was electrical.” An officer responded and removed a cable television line from the vehicle. The cable television company was notified.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his children.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his money box was broken into again.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported a scam telephone call. An officer responded and explained it was a scam.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he’s been receiving phone calls from his juvenile daughter” who “said she needs school supplies.” An officer responded.
  • David Steven Hall of 424 Willis Ave. was issued a citation for second-offense nuisance burning.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported a scam telephone call. An officer responded and explained it was a scam.
  • A caller said “while walking her dog, a white SUV followed her for two blocks.” An officer responded.
  • Someone entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a found billfold. An officer responded, and the item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said her cell phone was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she keeps receiving harassing phone calls and voice mails from” someone. An officer responded.
  • A caller said he lost his billfold.

August 15, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department found an abandoned bicycle. The item was “transported to the bike shed.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
