August 19, 2016

  • A caller said a dog was running at large. Officers responded and transported two animals to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog she caught near Dawson. An officer responded. The Humane Society of Perry was notified. “Due to its small size, the dog was not taken to the pound.” A Perry Police Department employee volunteered to “take the dog home with her for a couple of days to see if someone calls.”
  • A caller reported two abandoned bicycles in her driveway. Officers responded and took the bikes to the bike shed.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department assisted a motorist who ran out of fuel.
  • A caller reported “someone knocking on her windows and shining a flashlight in the windows of her residence last night.” The said said she “just moved into the residence and did not know why anyone would be needing her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a “verbal altercation” occurred between a son and his mother. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she and her son have been harassed by her son’s ex-wife.” An officer responded.
  • Tammy Sue Hill, 33, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • Chad Allen Love, 41, was arrested on charges of fifth-degree theft and violation of a no-contact order.
  • A caller said a man and woman were “yelling and fighting outside a tent at the campgrounds.” officers responded and found “a physical confrontation occurred ” between the man and woman, but the officers were “unable to determine the primary aggressor. Both parties separated.”
  • A caller said “a thin male wearing a white t-shirt and a hat” was “walking around asking for money door to door.” An officer responded but did not find the solicitor.
  • A caller from a local retail store said “a boy took a Ouija board and ran out with it along with another boy.” Officers responded. A 14-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.

August 20, 2016

  • A caller said his bicycle was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said a cat was running at large. An officer responded but as the cat “was being placed in her vehicle, it took off.”
  • A caller said he is “having problems with his juvenile son.” An officer responded and “advised both parties to cool off and separate for the night.”

August 21, 2016

  • Jerrilyn Spencer, 1804 Fifth St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • Nicole Spence, 626 Second St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense open burning.
  • A caller said he heard “a lot of screaming” and saw “possibly a truck almost running over someone.” An officer responded and found it was a “misunderstanding.”
  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department could help remove a bat from her house. Officers responded and found “the bat flew out on his own.”
  • A caller said a downtown window was broken. Officers responded and alerted the Perry Public Works Department.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
