- A caller reported a hit-and-run accident in the 700 block of Fifth Street. Officers responded and found a legally parked 2013 Chevy Silverado pickup, registered to Mark Taylor, 723 Fifth St., Perry, was struck and caused to strike a legally parked 2007 Chevy pickup, registered to Michael Wood, 717 Fifth St., Perry. A second caller reported “that their truck was taken last night, and it was involved in an accident somewhere.” Investigation revealed the driver of a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup, registered to Tracey Moore, 1415 Otley Ave., Perry, and driven by Patrick Moore, 1415 Otley Ave., Perry, “left the scene” of the accident “and drove the vehicle back to the owner’s residence. The owner of the vehicle came out to find his vehicle had been in an accident. The driver of the vehicle is not known at this time.”
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
