July 25, 2022

  • Samuel Dunbar of 1213 Sixth St., Perry, was issued a citation for a fireworks violation.
  • A 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora, registered to and driven by Carol Anne Overton of 2833 Eastern Ave., Perry, collided with a legally parked 2020 GMC Yukon, registered to Lori Rausch Seeley of 356 332nd Place, Perry. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
  • A 2006 Toyota Sienna van, registered to and driven by Trevor James Kirchner of 810 18th St., Perry, was traveling eastbound in the Violet Hill Cemetery when it left the roadway and struck a shrub and three headstones. Two headstones were knocked over and one broken in the veterans area of the cemetery. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated $2,500.

July 26, 2022

  • Jammie Allen Benshoof, 42, of 1805 Iowa St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for seven counts of forgery, second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.

July 27, 2022

  • Andrew Austin Barr, 37, of 1110 31st St., Perry, was arrested on a Des Moines Police Department warrant for third-degree harassment.
  • Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 600 block of North Street. Signs in the area were spray painted.

July 28, 2022

  • Officers responded to the 2800 block of 1st Ave on a report of criminal mischief. Someone had thrown a rock that damaged a trailer.
  • Tyler James Devilbiss, 18, of 2110 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of failure to yield to emergency vehicle, no driver’s license and failure to obey stop sign.

July 29, 2022

  • A 2007 Honda van, registered to and driven by Robert Lamont York of 1122 Paul St., Perry, collided with a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup, registered to and driven by Adrian Ceja Ceja of 2621 Warford St., Perry, near Second and Park streets. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
  • A semi-tractor trailer, registered to J. B. Hunt Transport of Noblesville, Indiana, and driven by M. D. Abdul Hossain of Richardson, Texas, was traveling eastbound on Willis Avenue and struck the crosswalk sign on the south side of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $2,000.

July 30, 2022

  • A 15-year-old female from Woodward was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and assault with bodily injury.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
