November 30, 2017

  • Zakary Olsen 620 Willis Ave., Perry, was issued a citation for failure to obey a yield sign.
  • Charges of disorderly conduct are pending in a case involving “two juveniles who were involved in a fight at the high school.”
  • A caller reported “kids fighting at the elementary school.” Officers responded and made contact with three 10-year-olds, who “said they were playing and got too rough.” The officers “asked them to stop playing whatever games that got them to that point.”
  • A caller said “he was following a vehicle that ran a stop sign and nearly struck him.” Officers responded, and one officer advised the caller “not to chase down other drivers and intimidate them.” The caller “was not pleased with his answer and left.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said “sometime in the last week someone stole the tires, mags and headlights” from her husband’s car that was parked by the junkyard. An officer responded.
  • A caller from Des Moines said “her roommate’s boyfriend” had “just stolen her vehicle” and “may be en route top Perry.” The caller was advised “to call the Des Moines Police Department if she wanted to report the vehicle stolen,” and she “said she would.”
  • A caller said “her 7-year-old son had put a paperclip in an outlet and had electrocuted himself.” An officer responded and the Perry First Responders were paged.
  • A caller from a local retail store said someone “took off with a case of beer.” Officers responded.

December 1, 2017

  • A caller from a local retail store said a “customer saw a used syringe in the men’s bathroom.” An officer responded, and the item “was properly disposed of.”
  • Madison Kae Stonehocker, 23, 1618 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A caller said “her husband was being held hostage on the second floor, third door to the left.” The dispatcher made contact with the Dallas County Hospital and “advised them one of their patients was calling.”
  • A caller “said there was a man stabbing another man.” Officers responded but did not find “any signs of a stabbing.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
