December 11, 2017

  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller wished “to speak with an officer about how he is being harassed.” An officer responded and determined the caller has “issues” with his “in-home care service provider,” and “one of his coping skills is to call the police. The issues are being handled by the care service.”
  • A caller said a customer reported “a dead deer on the empty lot.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller said “she sold her car and left her plates on the vehicle.” She said “the new owner has not registered the vehicle in his name and had got a parking ticket that was mailed to her.” An officer responded and explained to the caller “she would have to take the parking ticket to court.”
  • A caller said “two kids were picking on a man in a wheelchair.” An officer responded but did not find the cruel children or the disabled man.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave., “requesting to speak with an officer regarding messages her daughter was receiving.” An officer responded and “learned an unknown person had been texting” the woman’s “young daughter and wouldn’t tell her who the unknown person was.” The officer advised the woman “to change her daughter’s cell phone number.”
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his 1-year-old son.” An officer responded.

December 12, 2017

  • A caller said “someone had broken into” a local restaurant “and taken all the money out of the cash register.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone is “always on time to drop off her children at her daycare, and today she has not showed up.” The caller said “she contacted her work, and she is not at work either.” The caller called back and said she made contact with the missing mom.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
