  • A caller said a dog was running at large. Officers responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “he was contacted by someone telling him he won money.” The caller said “someone is supposed to come to his house today.” An officer responded and told the caller that “is someone shows up, holler to wait a minute and call the police , and an officer would respond to assist him.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the dog, who “was very thin and hungry,” to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “found items that appear to have been illegally dumped at the boat ramp.” The officer determined the owner of the trash, and “she was advised to respond to the boat ramp and clean up the mess.”
  • A caller reported an injured deer along U.S. Highway 169. The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a debit card he found in the street. An officer responded, and the item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A “female caller was screaming” that she “wanted someone to leave her apartment.” Officers responded and made contact with the caller, “who recently broke up with her boyfriend.” The officers learned the ex-boyfriend’s “step-father showed up at the residence” and “wanted carpet shampoo.” The officers made contact with the step-father, who “agreed not to return to” the apartment.
  • A caller from a local retail store said “he caught some kids shoplifting.” The caller said “the kids told him they were hungry and didn’t have any food at home.” The caller said “he was concerned for the children’s welfare” and did “not want charges filed.” An officer responded and made contact with the hungry children.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
