December 19, 2016

  • Edith Barco of 2624 Warford St. in Perry was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • A caller said “someone had obtained his wife’s debit card information” and “withdrew money from three ATMs in the Des Moines metro area.” An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A caller said “she let someone stay with her and thinks they are doing drugs.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he had money taken out of his account without his consent.” He said his bank told him “he had four ATM withdrawals in Missouri and one transaction at a Shell service station in Texas.” An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he has had money taken out of his account.” He said his bank told him “an unknown person had withdrawn $303 from the ATM at the Perry Hy-Vee” and “also attempted to withdraw money from an ATM in Dallas Center and West Des Moines but were unsuccessful.” An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A caller said “someone hacked into her bank account and took money.” An officer responded and determined the caller’s “account was not compromised.”
  • Zachary Alan Armstrong, 30, 1800 N. 16th St., Clarinda, Iowa, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department assisted a resident “who was locked out of her apartment.”
  • Trey Joseph Dantzler, 18, 1402 Willis Ave., #5, Perry, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

December 20, 2016

  • A caller said she felt nauseated. An officer responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer reported a student “got suspended yesterday and was informed not to be on school grounds by the principal.” When the suspended student “went today to drop off his girlfriend,” he “was advised if he came back before his suspension was over, he would be charged.”
  • A caller reported “a car that honked at her and was tailgating her” and “ended up passing her on Willis.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her husband lost his red flip phone.”
  • Investigation led a Perry Police Department officer and Dallas County Deputy Sheriff to locate two skimmers on gas pumps at Kum & Go, 1115 141st St.
  • A caller said “a couple of weeks ago some kids came to her door selling nuts as a fundraiser for softball.” The caller “said she gave the kids $20” and the “kids said they would deliver the nuts by Christmas,” but “so far the nuts haven;t been delivered.” The caller said “the boys were approximately 10 years old and had come over six weeks ago.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her mother’s cat got loose.”
  • A caller reported three dogs running at large. An officer responded and found the dogs’ owner on scene, who “caught the dogs and took them home.”
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on a 6-year-old boy” because the caller “believes he may be home alone.” An officer responded and found “there were several adults in the house at the time.”

December 21, 2016

  • A caller said “he had a bat in his residence and needed help getting it out.” Officers responded and caught the animal, which “was taken outside and released.”
  • Elias Robert Jimenez, 38, 1915 Lucinda St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
