December 2, 2019

  • The Perry Police Department received a report of attempted fraud. A caller claimed to be from a police department in El Paso, Texas, said they were going to prosecute the victim for stolen property.
  • Officers responded to the 2800 block of Willis Avenue on a report of criminal mischief. Damage to the property was estimated at $30. The case is under investigation.

December 3, 2019

  • The Perry Police Department received two reports of attempted fraud. A caller claimed to be from the Social Security Administration and was asking for gift cards to clear up the account issues. Officers advised the reporting parties that this is a scam and to block the number.
  • Officers responded to the 1300 block of Willis Avenue on a report of theft. The case is under investigation.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
