  • A Perry resident fell asleep while waiting for the arrival of a Heart of Iowa Regional Transportation Authority (HIRTA) bus to take him to his dialysis treatment. When he awoke, he learned the bus was two hours away. An officer responded and gave him a ride to his treatment.
  • A woman came to the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported she applied for a U.S. Passport for her 6-year-old son. She said employees at the U.S. Postal Service office in Perry accidentally delivered the document to the incorrect postal box. She said a postal worker told her the owner of the wrong box would be contacted and the document retrieved, but she was not aware this had yet happened and was concerned because “someone is now in possession of all her son’s private information.” An officer responded and “advised her to contact the postal inspector.”
  • An officer arrived at the Perry City Hall at 6 p.m. in order to standby during the meeting of the Perry City Council but learned the council had rescheduled its meeting to 5 p.m. The officer was advised always to the read ThePerryNews.com for accurate and up to date information about the city of Perry.
  • Rafael Partida J., 21, 1007 Dewey St., #12, was arrested on charges of driving while suspended and open container.
