  • A caller from Greene County reported a suspicious vehicle on his property. The caller said “someone fired a shot.” A caller from the Greene County Sheriff’s office said the suspect vehicle was “believed to have left to Perry.” Officers were advised.
  • Juan Garcia Cristales, 39, 1616 W. Third St., Perry, was issued citations for failure to yield to stop sign and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • A caller said “there is a male in the parking” of a local restaurant who is “trying to get into all the vehicles.” The caller said the male “possibly has mental issues.” An officer responded.
  • A possibly “mentally disturbed” person entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “people are talking about how she is earning her money,” and “she wanted to show she takes it from her bank account.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “that two BB guns were stolen from” a local retail store. An officer responded and “picked up the wrappers that were left behind.”
  • A caller said his dog was lost.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone “who last texted the word ‘suicide’ and hasn’t responded anymore.” Officers responded and made contact with the person, who “said she has been stable and has not texted anyone that.”
  • A caller reported “a longtime stalker.” The caller said the person calls her “out of the blue,” and “she wants it to stop.” An officer responded.
  • Nicole Tonche-Rios of 1401 W. Eighth St., Perry, was issued a citation for second-offense vicious dog after “a 5-year-old female victim was bitten on the right upper bicep.” The dog “was taken to the animal shelter for quarantine,” and “rabies vaccinations are pending.”
  • A caller said someone “took their pregnant dog to Ames, and while they were there the dog gave birth to its litter.” The caller said someone “now is refusing to bring back the dog and the puppies.” An officer responded.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department issued 21 citations to vehicles parked in violation of the city snow ordinance.
  • Multiple callers reported an electricity outage. Alliant Energy was notified and said that “workers were taken off the streets for safety reasons, and the power will be out until” 10 a.m. Sunday.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
