  • A caller said she was having a “tenant problem.” An officer responded and spoke with a building manager and assistant manager. They said their employer directed them “to issue a three-day notice and inform the resident” in one of the units “that she had to be out by midnight tonight.” They said the tenant was refusing to sign their paperwork. The officer informed the employees that the Perry Police Department “could not serve or force the tenant to sign anything since it was a civil dispute.” The officer spoke with the tenant, who claimed she moved in Feb. 8 with the assistance of the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority. The building manager spoke with his employer, and they “decided to handle the situation in a different way.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
