  • A caller said he found a large pool of blood at the intersection of Willis and First avenues near the Perry Public Library. Officers responded. Investigation revealed a person had fallen there and been taken to the emergency room of the Dallas County Hospital.
  • A man entered the Perry Police Department offices at 908 Willis Ave. and said someone had stolen U.S. mail from his residence in Perry and cashed a stolen check at Checks into Cash at 524 First Ave. in Perry. A woman from the same residence claimed jewelry was stolen from her home at about the same time as the man’s mail was stolen. Officers responded and opened an investigation. About four hours later, the woman called and said she just returned home and found her residence was been broken into. She said someone broke into the garage and attempted to break into the house. She said a blue tent was missing.

February 3, 2016

  • Janet Bivanco, 18, 1407 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
