  • A caller “requested a welfare check on three children.” The caller “did not have the names of the children” but said the “children are 11, 8 and 5.” Officers “responded to the residence after the Perry Police Department School Resource Officer “was unable to locate the children in school.” The officers made contact with the mother of the children, who said “the children live with their father in Beaverdale and attend school in Des Moines.” The mother said the caller “should know that.” The officers relayed the information to West Des Moines Police Sgt. Adam Porath.
  • Marium Amber Katzmann, 35, 1809 W. Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a Polk Count warrant on a charge of fourth-degree theft.
  • A caller said “two of her tires were just sliced.” An officer responded.
  • Michael Norman Spaulding, 23, 518 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant on a charge of probation violation.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer but “would not advise why.” An officer responded.

February 4, 2017

  • A caller said “he smells gas in his basement.” The Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
