Feb. 7, 2025

  • Jose Santos Ayala Sanchez, 30, of 1120 11th St., Perry, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and on Dallas County warrants for failure to appear on original charges of OWI, child endangerment, domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and violation of a no-contact order.
  • A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Marshall Headley of Perry, collided with a 2020 Toyota Tundra, driven by Maurice Zaldana-Pineda of Perry, at the intersection of Iowa Highways 141 and 144. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $7,000.
  • Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct in the 1200 block of Second Street.

Feb. 8, 2025

  • Duane Allan Johnson, 66, of Des Moines was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • Daniel Armando Perez Garcia, 23, of 808 Third St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving while barred and driving under suspension.
  • Officers responded to a report of assault in the 2000 block of First Avenue.

Feb. 9, 2025

  • Tod Christopher Schmitz, 56, of 1001 W. Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 3300 block of McKinley Street.

Feb. 10, 2025

  • Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of Sixth Street.
  • Officers responded to a report of burglary in the 300 block of Sugar Creek Circle. The loss was estimated at $500.
  • A 2008 Toyota Yaris, driven by Gonzalo Jaimes Contreras of Perry, struck a fence in the 1100 block of Paul Street, causing damage to the corner pole and rear quarter panel. No injuries were reported.

Feb. 11, 2025

  • Jamari Tarrell Elliot, 26, of Des Moines was arrested on a charge of driving while suspended.
  • Jordan Orellana-Juarez, 18, of 500 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.
  • A 17-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of invasion of privacy
  • Officers responded to a report of theft of a 2025 Fuzion Fifth Wheel Mobile Home. The loss was estimated at $116,000.
  • A 2024 Honda CRV, driven by Mishelle Ann Johnson of Johnston, collided with a 2022 Hyundai Palisade, driven by Shannon McMahon Gilligan of Ankeny, in the 300 block of Willis Avenue. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $750.

Feb. 12, 2025

  • Officers responded to a report of theft in the 1300 block of 30th Street.
