January 22, 2018

  • A caller said she was meeting someone “for a child-custody exchange,” and someone was “causing problems with her fiance.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the officers of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. to discuss “options with for 13-year-old daughter.” He said the child “has been sneaking out of the house, and they are concerned for her but can’t get her to stop.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her son is missing,” and “her did not go to school.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she saw a male and a female “walking down the road,” and the male was “swinging a baseball bat.” The caller “could not tell if he was swinging it at the female or not.” Officers responded.
  • The Dallas County Sheriff’s office “requested a Perry car respond to” a local hotel regarding a disturbance in a room. “Dallas County advised the officer could disregard” prior to arrival.

January 23, 2018

  • Suleyman Ahmed Idriss, 51, 303 Eighth St., #4, Perry, was issued a citation for violation of instruction permit and failure to yield upon left turn.
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.
  • A caller said “someone put something in his fuel tank” because he “just found his fuel tank open and footprints on the side of his truck that appear fresh.” The caller said “his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend has threatened him before.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a woman was at the bus stop with a large” dog. The caller said the “dog was barking, and kids were afraid to get off the bus.” An officer responded but did not find the woman with the dog.
  • A caller reported erratic driving. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.A caller reported “a dog constantly barking.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a local retail store reported “a man in the store who claims he’s a Des Moines police officer.” The caller said “earlier tonight the man was in the store and chased a customer.” An officer responded.

January 24, 2018

  • Justina Leann Wiltsie-Pender, 28, was arrested on a Polk County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of OWI and probation violation.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
