January 1, 2023
- Officers received a report of criminal mischief in the 800 block of 18th Street. The case is under investigation.
- Officers received a report of criminal mischief in the 300 block of St. Paul Street. A window of a vehicle was broken out, possibly with a bb gun. The incident is under investigation.
- Rusty Lee Curtis Lewis, 36, of 1619 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of assault.
- Wesley Riley Alfaro, 27, of 522 Clearview Dr., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving while barred.
January 2, 2023
- Nicholas Keith Clayton, 33, of 2801 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
- Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 1300 block of Willis Avenue. The dispute was verbal only.
- A 2001 GMC pickup, registered to and driven by Gavin Cole Hegstrom of 102 Fourth St., Jamaica, collided with a 2005 Chevy pickup, registered to Javier’s Contruction of 15591 141st St., Perry, and driven by Javier F. Hernandez of 15591 141st St., Perry. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,200. Hegstrom was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured cleared distance.
- A 2011 Nissan Murano, registered to and driven by Gashu Ali Mohammed of 807 11th Ave., Humboldt, collided with a 2022 Honda Ridgeline, registered to and driven by Ryan Brady Lohman of 1609 Sixth St., Perry. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $10.
- Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 1300 block of Willis Avenue. The dispute was verbal only.
- Tucker Kade Lang, 20, of 1120 Ninth St., Sheldon, was arrested on a charge of harassment of a public official.
January 3, 2023
- A 2014 Ford Edge, registered to Pamela Mae Root of 1005 Collins Dr., Waukee, and driven by Steven Michael Dorman of 2424 Otley Ave., Perry, collided with a Honda Accord, registered to and driven by Jorge Alfredo Lopez of 1606 Second St., Perry. Details of the incident are not currently available. Damage was estimated at $12,000. Root was issued a citation for reckless driving. Dorman was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility-accident related.
- Officers received a report of identity theft at an uncertain location. Information was given for identity theft recourse, and the incident is under investigation.

January 4, 2023
- Christopher Alan Blitz, 43, of 1627 Willis Ave., Perry was arrested on charges of first-offense OWI and possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
