July 10, 2018

  • A man “and his case worker” entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. “and requested an officer assist him in getting property from his mother’s residence.” An officer responded.
  • Steven Pickell, 63, 716 William St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension and was issued a citation for no driver’s license, failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to yield half the roadway.
  • A caller said “he needed an officer at his property.” The caller “was yelling at someone and telling them to get off their property.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said his wife said “a male was standing near their garage last night, so she went up to him and told him to leave the property, and then he punched her.” The caller said his wife “doesn’t want the police involved, but he is concerned.” An officer responded.
  • Two 14-year-old males, an 11-year-old male, a 10-year-old male and two 8-year old males were served no-trespass notices at the request of a local retail store.
  • A caller said someone was “out of control.” Officers responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “his bicycle was stolen sometime in the last few weeks.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a tree blocking the street.” An officer responded, and the Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller reported “a ladder lying in the roadway on Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded but was “unable to locate the ladder.”
  • A caller said “that his neighbor keeps pounding on the ceiling.” An officer responded.

July 11, 2018

  • A caller said “her dog barked,” and the caller “thought she saw a shadow outside.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there was an unknown female knocking on the door.” Officers responded and made contact with a “female sleeping on the front deck” who “was found to be the wife of the” caller.
  • A caller said “someone in dark clothing was running.” The caller said “that when they saw her, they hid behind an electrical box.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there was a female with brown hair and dark clothing laying in the middle of the road.” The caller said “there was also shoes in the middle of the road.” Officers responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
