July 13, 2018

  • A caller asked how to go about “removing her name off a vehicle.” An officer responded and explained that “unless the vehicle is paid for, she will not be able to remove her name.”
  • A caller reported “a couple of people sleeping in the big shelter at Pattee Park.” An officer responded, made contact with the sleepers and “suggested places they can get help.”
  • David Alderson, 2808 Willis Ave., Perry, was issued a citation for failure to yield.
  • A caller from a local retail store reported a gas drive off valued at $44.30. Officers responded.
  • A caller reported identity theft. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she received a call from an 800 number claiming to be from Google. They had her do some things on the computer.” The caller said she “believes it was a hacker.” An officer responded and “advised her to disconnect her wifi,” to “notify her banks” and to “monitor her credit from now on.”
  • A caller reported “two huskies locked in a vehicle.” The caller said she located the owner of the vehicle, who “stated it wasn’t too hot for the dogs.” An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller “requested to talk to an officer about custody issues.” An officer responded.

July 14, 2018

  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. Officers responded and transported the animals to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded and “picked up” the item.
  • A caller said “a child might have just gotten abducted.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported nuisance burning. An officer responded.
  • A caller said her ex-husband “keeps driving past her residence.” The caller said she “wants him to stop.” An officer responded and explained to the caller that “there is nothing officers could do to stop him from driving past her residence.” The caller “was given information about how to obtain a no-contact order.”
  • A caller from a local retail store said “she was getting nervous” about a susicous vehicle. An officer responded and “caught up to the vehicle.” The officer “did not notice any traffic violations and no other reason to stop the vehicle.”
  • A caller said he caught a dog running at large. The caller “said something about knowing who the dog belonged to but when asked the name of the owner, he advised he didn’t know the name off the top of his head. After not wanting to give out any information and advising he was just going to keep the dog, he hung up.”
  •  The Perry Volunteer Fire Department was “paged to assist Dallas County on a river search.”
  • A caller from a local business said he received a video “of people egging” his business. The caller said “this has not happened before. He believes it is because they are competitors.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
