July 2, 2024

  • Officers responded to a report of fraud in the 1700 block of Fourth Street.
  • Officers responded to a report of harassment in the 700 block of 18th Street.
  • A 2004 Nissan Ultima, driven by Daniel Hernandez of 1809 Estella St., Perry, collided with a power pole in the 1900 block of Willis Avenue. Damage was estimated at $5000. Hernandez was issued a citation for violation of an instruction permit and failure to maintain control.

July 3, 2024

  • Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 1100 block of First Avenue. The case is under investigation.
  • Corey Justin Scheuermann-Thompson, 38, of 110 Fourth St., Jamaica, was arrested on a charge of OWI.
  • Gabriel Oswaldo Estrada, 41, of 815 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for fifth-degree theft and on a Boone County warrant for fifth-degree theft.
  • Eduardo Torres Aguilar, 30, of Des Moines was arrested on charges of eluding,  interference with official acts and issued citations for speeding, no valid driver’s license, no insurance, open container and failure to yield to emergency vehicle.

July 4, 2024

  • Marisela Ocegueda of 211 Willis Ave., Perry, was issued a citation for fireworks.
  • Manuele Banuelos of 1103 30th St., Perry, was issued a citation for fireworks.
  • Robert Schmidt of 2015 W. Third St., Perry, was issued a citation for fireworks.
  • Yirgalem Gerbrehiwet of of 1315 First Ave., Perry, was issued a citation for open burning.
  • Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in in the 1600 block of Iowa Street. The dispute was verbal only.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
