  • A caller said her neighbor caught a dog running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her granddaughter, who has Down syndrome, locked her out of her car.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. The woman said she believed “this may be part of a scam.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his wife.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his 15-year-old foster daughter has been missing since last night.” An officer responded and the “juvenile was entered as a runaway.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “wanted to file a restraining order against his cousin,” who was “spreading lies about him.” An officer responded and told the man he “needed to go the courthouse for assistance.”
  • A caller said he let someone “stay at his residence,” and “she stole his credit card to buy a plane tickey to North Carolina” and “took his $1,500 laptop computer.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a man and woman arguing.” An officer responded and learned the incident was “a verbal argument only.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog she caught running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller asked “to talk to an officer about problems with her boyfriend.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from Des Moines said “he is receiving harassing text messages from” someone in Perry. An officer responded and told the caller “that since he lives in Des Moines, he would need to contact the Des Moines Police Department.”
  • A caller reported an erratic driver. Officers responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said “she was being held against her will at the Jefferson nursing home.” The caller was transferred to the Greene County Sheriff’s office.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
