Perry Police Report June 28

  • An insurance salesman from Indiana entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to make his presence known to law enforcement “in the event someone calls in a suspicious vehicle.”
  • A caller reported “people arguing outside of her salon.” Officers responded.
  • An incomplete 911 call was received. On callback the caller said “her phone dials it a lot on accident because the screen is sensitive.”
  • A 911 call was received from the same sensitive screen.
  • A caller said “she is having problems with a neighbor littering.” An officer responded.
  • Kenneth Jones of 2801 First Ave., #37, Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense nuisance burning.
  • A caller reported a child “at the pond by Quail Run Apartments” was “shooting at geese with an airsoft rifle.” An officer responded but did not find the armed child.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. The caller called again and said the owner of the dog fetched the dog.
  • A caller reported “someone setting off fireworks.” An officer responded and found a man using a nail gun.
  • A caller said a cat was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller “complained of loud hammering coming from” a local factory. An officer responded and found someone “had been jackhammering out an old floor” but now was “done with the jackhammer.”
  • A caller reported “someone setting off fireworks.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
