February 28, 2017

  • A caller from a local vehicle dealership said “there was a possible theft situation with an employee.” The caller said the employee “came into work after the shop was closed and replaced two tires on his personal vehicle without permission.” An officer responded and made contact with the employee, who “said he owes his employer $300. He went over to his work to quit, but they advised him he is not fired, but he cannot be there now, or they would call the police.” The employee also said “they won’t give him his toolbox.”
  • A caller said someone was “at her house,” and “she does not want her there.” Officers responded and “stood by” while the unwanted person left the property.
  • A caller said “there was a girl drilling on her property.” An officer responded but found no driller.
  • A caller said someone “has run away.” The caller said “she believes he snuck out of the basement window.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his son “has not returned.” He said his son “is disabled and with a caseworker.” Officers responded. “As he was waiting in the lobby, he received a call that notified him that they had arrived home.”

March 1, 2017

  • An officer of the Perry Police Department “removed debris” from the roadway.
  • A caller reported a vehicle “parked out in the middle of the road.” The call said “he almost hit it.” An officer responded and made contact with the owner of the vehicle, who said “they were going to move it.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
