Perry Police Report March 13

March 12, 2018

  • A caller said the “neighborhood stray cat, gray tiger stripe, is sick laying on the curb.” An officer responded and took the animal to the Perry Animal Clinic.
  • A caller said “he put cameras up in his house” after “his break in last week,” and “the camera just powered down.” Officers responded, and “everything appeared to be okay.”
  • A caller from a local bank said a customer “was told by someone on a social media site, to purchase iTunes cards, gift cards worth a couple thousand dollars, and they will mail him a check with a higher amount.” The caller said the customer “waited for their check and attempted to deposit it before sending the cards.” The caller said the customer was told “the check is not good, so now he is stuck with all the cards and wants to know what to do.” An officer responded, determined the customer retained receipts from his purchase of the cards and directed him to return the to Walmart.
  • A caller “requested an officer assist with removing a raccoon off her porch.” The caller said “it has been there for hours,” and “she has tried to push it off with a shovel but it won’t leave.” An officer responded but was “unable to free it from the tight space that it was in. It is trapped for now.”
  • The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office said “a juvenile called in and advised that his step-dad took off with his 2-month-old brother, and the mom did not want him to, so she hopped in the car with him, and he took off on 141 eastbound from Jamaica.” Officers responded but did not find the traveling family.
  • A caller said “his ex-girlfriend who lives next to him has stolen his documents and will not return them until he pays money that he owes her.” Officers responded and “calmed the situation down.”

March 13, 2018

  • A caller said her brother does “not want her to have contact with their father and wants to serve her with a no trespass to his residence, where their father will be staying.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
