Perry Police Report March 14

March 13, 2018

  • A caller said “someone has put garbage out by hers. She only has one bag, but she did not give anyone permission to put their trash in her front yard.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there is a brown dog on the porch, and it’s got his landlord’s dog in its mouth.” The caller “said the landlord was bitten trying to break the dogs up.” Officers responded and made contact with the bite victim and the owner of the biting dog.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog she caught running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller reported “a fridge with an open door.” The caller said he was “concerned a child will get inside the fridge while playing and not be able to get out.” An officer responded and made contact with the owners of the refrigerator, who said “they will duct tape it.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.

March 14, 2018

  • A caller said “her bedroom was on fire.” Officers responded and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged. The Perry Ministerial Association was contacted, and the American Red Cross of Greater Iowa was notified.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
