March 16, 2018

  • A caller said his car was stolen, and “his ex-girlfriend won’t give it back,” and “she won’t give back his dad’s Sam’s Club card and other property of his.”
  • A caller said “he just backed into a neighbor’s vehicle.” An officer responded.
  • Eric Chandler Parmenter, 28, 4410 N.E. Crestmoore Lane, Ankeny, was arrested on a Perry warrant for four counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “a tire was slashed on her vehicle overnight.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her daughter “just returned home but is causing problems.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested to talk to an officer about having a no-trespass order served.” An officer responded and “explained the process to” the caller.
  • A caller said “some type of banner blew into a street sign and is stuck on the sign.” An officer responded and “removed the debris.”
  • A caller reported “a group of kids in the business causing problems” who “were going to start a fight.” An officer responded but did not find any kids.
  • A caller reported “a skunk smell coming from the apartment next to him.” Officers responded.

March 17, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “located a dog tethered to a lawn mower.” The officer made contact with the owner of the dog and “advised him he cannot have the dog that way.” The owner “put the dog away.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “filled out a runaway report” on a 14-year-old female.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “she is trying to move out,” but her boyfriend “won’t let her in to get her belongings.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his neighbor is putting a fence up on the property line.” An officer responded and found “there was a dispute as to where the property line was actually located.” The officer “advised both parties that the city building official would have to be contacted and let them know where the property line was actually located.”
  • A caller said she was transported to the hospital March 3. The caller said “she believes someone locked her door,” and “now she can’t find her keys.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone swiped his parked vehicle.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave., “wanting to speak to an officer concerning marital problems.”
  • Several parties entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and spoke with an officer about “a simple assault.”
  • Jye Tyng Wong, 29, 2284 E Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A caller reported “items were missing from the building.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
