  • A Perry Police Department officer spoke with someone “concerning a possible sexual assault involving some of her employees.”
  • A caller said “she had just driven past the house that caught fire yesterday and saw flames coming from the roof.” Officers responded and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged.
  • A caller reported an abandoned tricycle. An officer responded and “placed a large Hot Wheels toy in the bike shed.”
  • A caller was “upset and said he wants charges pressed on” someone who “is a maintenance man who advanced on his wife.” An officer responded and said “a call will be documented, but the alleged victim needs to report the incident, and additional details need provided.”
  • A caller “reported a tire in the middle of the road on the westbound lane of Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the U.S. Postal Service office in Perry said “a gray pit bull was in the building.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • Dawn Lynae Nichols of 2001 Estella St., Perry, was issued a citation for open burning.
  • A caller said “he got a bill from an appliance warehouse in Dallas, Texas.” The caller said “he’s never been to Texas.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a vehicle was “parked in the alleyway behind her house,” and the caller “had to leave the other way.” The “officers were both taking calls,” but the caller was told an officer would respond “as soon as someone was available.”
  • A caller said “she locked her keys in her vehicle.” The caller was provided with the contact information for local tow services.
  • A caller reported “some large pot holes on the road.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • Tyler Alexander Devilbiss, 35, 404 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-degree harassment.
  • A 16-year-old male from Perry was arrested on charges of first-degree harassment and four counts of interference with official acts.
  • A 14-year-old male from Perry was arrested on charges of first-degree harassment and four counts of interference with official acts.
  • A caller said “she can smell an odor from her water heater.” All “officers were involved in arresting three uncooperative juveniles and could not respond.”
  • A caller said someone “threw a DVD at his roommate.” An officer responded and found the DVD thrower “was calm.” The officer advised the DVD thrower “to stay away from the other roommates in the residence.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
