Perry Police Report March 31

March 30, 2017

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he is turning in four bikes.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she can’t get her son to get in the vehicle.” An officer responded, and the child got in the vehicle and “put on his seat belt.”
  • A caller from a local retail store said she “stopped a person who admitted to shoplifting.” The man confessed he “ate candy in the store.” No charges were preferred because “the night manager made the subject pay for the items.”
  • A caller said “she observed a man hitting a woman.” An officer responded, and the “victim denied anything of the sort every happening.”
  • A caller said a vehicle “has been parked in the alley behind her business for over a month.” An officer responded and found the “vehicle appeared to be legally parked.”
  • A caller said someone “broke into her residence today while she was gone.” The caller “said her computer was missing.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his client “stated she had taken a lot of pills, locked her doors and wasn’t going to let anyone in.” Officers responded and made contact with the client, who said “she had not taken any pills.” She said “she was fine and had told” her caseworker “that she was not going to take her pills anymore.”
  • A caller said someone “has been sending his mother” “harassing text messages” and “had been at the residence earlier tonight, banging on the door.” The said said he “just wanted to let officers know it happened so it can be documented.”
  • A caller reported “a man walking in the middle of the roadway on U.S. Interstate 80 by De Soto.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.

March 31, 2017

  • Dakota Kai Nicolaisen, 22, 1517 Iowa St., Perry, was arrested on charges of interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
