Perry Police Report May 25

May 24, 2016

• A caller said “her son came and basically kicked her and (another person) out” and “threatened to sell all of (her property) at a garage sale.” An officer responded and explained “options.”
• A caller said the neighbor’s small dogs “bark all the time” and “yip and nip at everyone.” An officer responded.
• A caller said the person mowing a neighbor’s lawn “had blown grass into the street, and it appeared he was going to take off and leave it there.” An officer responded and explained the Perry ordinance to the mower “from Waukee.”
• A caller said someone was riding “a motorized scooter out on the bike trail” near Dawson. The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
• A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to be fingerprinted for employment purposes. After fingerprinting, Hannah Victoria Severson, 26, 425 S.E. Second St., Ogden, was arrested on a Polk County warrant on a charge of unauthorized use of vehicle.
• While transporting a prisoner to the Dallas County Jail, a Perry Police Department officer “nearly hit a male who was running towards her patrol vehicle on the road.” The man was “covered in mud and appears to be intoxicated.” The officer notified the Dallas County Sheriff’s office, and a deputy sheriff responded. The muddy. drunken man said he “was drinking by the river with some friends” when “an argument ensued,” and “the friends left.” The officer completed the transport of the prisoner, who “stated she is okay.”
• A caller said his mother was talking to a man who just “busted their door.” A second caller said a “large male wearing shorts and light-colored clothing who was about 350 lbs and 6’2″ is very intimidating.” The second caller said she “said to him that he didn’t belong there, and he responded that he can do whatever he wanted.” The second caller said the big man in shorts “had knocked the door in to her downstairs neighbor’s apartment looking for someone.” Officers responded and learned the big man in shorts was from First Call Bail Bonds and “that the bail bondsman had information that a wanted person was in the apartment” and had “made forced entry but did not find the wanted person.” The first caller’s mother said she wanted her door fixed, and the big man in shorts “agreed to fix the door.”

May 25, 2016

• A crying caller said her daughter was “missing” and was “not in her bed.” Moments later the caller said her daughter was “found upstairs due to sleepwalking.” An officer responded.
• A caller said lightening struck a tree in his yard, “causing shrapnel to be propelled into the house, which broke a window.” An officer responded.
• A caller said a small dog “jumped into her car.” An officer responded and transported the dog to the Perry Animal Shelter.
