November 10, 2016

  • A caller said a cat with kittens were running at large, and “she knows that they don’t belong there.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he had some fraudulent charges on his bank account”  and “that he will stop by the police department to speak with an officer when he gets back to Perry.”
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer “responded to the elementary school to assist with a third grader who left the school.”
  • A caller said his uncle left a message “stating that of something happened to him, it was his girlfriend that did it.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported “someone spray painting her roof without her permission.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a package stolen from her home.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “asked how she could put a restraining order on her brother.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she could not see” a “person in a motorized wheelchair” and “had to swerve not to hit him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he could hear people yelling in front of his house.” Officers responded.

November 11, 2016

  • A caller said “the people upstairs have decided to do laundry every day since Sunday around the Midnight hours.” The caller said “the machines are loud and make it hard to sleep.” An officer responded and spoke with the people upstairs, who said “that was only time they were able to do laundry.”
  • A caller said “she has ash everywhere due to burning.” An officer responded and found “barely any ash was in the air.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said he found a billfold “in the middle of the street.” An officer responded and made contact with the owner of the billfold.
  • A caller said “she wanted to report the theft of her Social Security car, ID and her cell phone.” An officer responded and created a case file.
  • A caller said a man “rides around outside in his wheelchair all hours of the night.” The caller said the man “has no light on the wheelchair, and it is very hard to see him.” The caller said “she was just coming home from work and almost hit him tonight.” The caller said she was concerned about “the safety aspect.” An officer responded and spoke with the man in the wheelchair.

November 12, 2016

  • Anthony Jon Knight, 42, of Lohrville, Iowa, was arrested on a Polk County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of second-offense possession of a controlled substance.
  • Cesilia Melendez, 18, 1414 Fifth St., Perry, was issued a citation for failure to have a valid driver’s license.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
