  • A 13-year-old female from Perry was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
  • A caller said she “purchased some cigarettes” and “smoked all but two since Thursday” and now “feels very odd.” The caller said she “believes they were laced with something.” The Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A caller reported “a dead deer across the street from his residence.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller “reported a dog” that “keeps digging holes and seems to be ready to get out.” The caller said “she is upset that it is a pitbull, and she’s afraid it will attack her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller asked whether “it was illegal for someone to hang a deer on their tree in the backyard.” An officer responded and told the caller “we do not have an ordinance against it.”
  • A man and woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone in California attempted to lease two phones using their identity,” and “someone also made a purchase at Sears in the amount of $700.” Officers responded.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department stood by during a meeting of the Perry Community School District Board of Directors.
  • A caller said “he thinks one of the clients in the house stole and binder and folder.” The caller said “it was possible that he misplaced” the items. Officers responded.
  • The Dallas County Sheriff’s office “advised of a vehicle westbound in the eastbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141” near Bouton. Officers responded but did not find the wrong-way driver.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
