November 14, 2017

  • A caller said he “dropped his wallet” in a local retail store, and “it was taken to the counter by a male that he believes took the cash from the wallet.” Officers responded and reviewed the surveillance video, and “upon review it’s clear the suspect had taken the money from the wallet before returning it to the employee.”
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone who said in his last text message “that perhaps the world is better without him.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said she was “concerned about a male that she says has been charged with sexual abuse in many cases, including her own, is living in Perry.” An officer responded and told the caller the person in question “is not in the Sex Offender Registry” but “to call the police if” the person “made any contact with her.”
  • A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff called and said he dropped off someone “suffering from some mental issues” at a local gas station, and “his sister is coming from Granger to pick him up there, so he should not be there long.”
  • A caller said her son “had not gone to school for seven days.” An officer responded and spoke with the son. The officer also told the mother “if he was refusing to go to school, she could call at the time, and we would assist in getting him to school.”
  • A caller from a local restaurant said two females left the premises “without paying for $20 in food.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.

November 15, 2017

  • A caller reported “suspicious activity” that was “possibly drug related.” An officer responded.
  • A “startled” caller said “she hit a dog” and “believes it is dead.” An officer responded, “picked up the dog and took it to its owner’s residence.”
  • A caller “reported the flag pole and flag at the Veterans’ Memorial are on the ground.” There appeared to be “no vandalism,” but “the pole just broke.” The Perry Parks and Recreation Department was notified.
  • A caller from the Perry Public Works Department said “the life they used for Christmas decorations is broke down” on Second Street. The caller said “there are cones around it,” and “they have a part ordered for it, and it should be in tomorrow.”
  • A caller said the on-site property manager “is just rude and yells at them for no reason and takes pictures of them and of their cars where they are being parked.” An officer responded and made contact with the manager, who said the tenants “are not conforming to the new rules the owners” have “laid out.”
  • A caller reported “a man he caught on video that he did not know that was near his house.” An officer responded and determined the unknown man “was in a UPS uniform and dropped off a package and left.”
  • A caller said “her girlfriend is intoxicated and banging on stuff outside.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
