  • A caller said “that her 11-year-old son is refusing to go to school.” The caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would “help her get him to school.” An officer responded and learned the child “wanted to wear a different shirt to school.” The child “changed his shirt and let” the caller “take him to school.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded, caught the dog and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said “he has an opossum in his garage” and “would like an officer” to assist him. An officer responded and captured and removed the animal, which was released.
  • A caller said her dog was missing.
  • Darreus Carzell Carter, 39, 315 Seventh St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone had obtained his checking account information” and “made a withdrawal from his account.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Perry Elementary School reported “two children, a 7-year-old and a 6-year-old, walking home when they should have taken the bus.” Officers responded, and the children were found.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
