November 29, 2017

  • A caller said “an injured deer was sitting south of Iowa highway 141 south of the bike trail.” An officer “responded and put the deer down.”
  • A caller said he lost his billfold.
  • A caller “reported a 6-foot-tall emu missing since last night. It is a large, long-necked bird.” Officers were alerted.
  • A caller said “her freezer is leaking freon,” and the caller “didn’t know if it was dangerous.” An officer responded and informed the caller that “freon isn’t dangerous unless you are in a small space and breathing large amounts.” The officer suggested the caller “open all the windows in the room it’s located in and put a fan on to get the air moving, unplug the item, and wait to go back into the room until the smell has cleared.”
  • A caller “said her brother just assaulted their mother then ran from the residence.” The caller said her brother was 15 years old. An officer responded.
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer about her 16-year-old daughter. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she’s being harassed by her ex-husband.” An officer responded.

November 30, 2017

  • Jessica Lynn Waddell, 36, 307 N. Wilson Ave., #C, Jefferson, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed until and unless proven guilty.
