October 12, 2018

  • A caller said “he loaned his vehicle” to his daughter “three days ago and hasn’t seen her or the vehicle since.” The caller said “he believes she doesn’t want to return home due to issues with DHS, and she may be with her boyfriend.” An officer responded. The caller later called again and said “the vehicle has been returned.”
  • A caller requested “information on the area she is moving into.” The caller said “she is concerned about the crime rate in the area.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his vehicle was serviced by a local service provider, “and his handgun is now missing” from the vehicle. An officer responded, and “the stolen gun was entered into the Iowa/NCIC system.”
  • A caller said “he thinks someone is stealing from a nearby house and dropping it off behind” a local retail store. An officer responded, found several items behind the store and “attempted to contact the possible owner.”
  • A caller reported “three kids throwing rocks at a shed.” An officer responded but did not find the rock throwers.
  • A caller said a 14-year-old “hasn’t been home since Wednesday.” An officer responded, and a “missing-person report was completed,” but the child “returned home” prior to “entry into the system.”
  • A caller said “his vehicle was just struck by another vehicle that left the scene.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his 2-day-old baby was choking.” An officer and the Perry First Responders responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A 911 caller “was upset with her daughter for taking food that didn’t belong to her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she thinks” someone “is in her attic.” The caller “said she has the door blocked.” Officers responded and were told someone “left the residence walking just prior to” the officers’ arrival.

October 13, 2018

  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
