Perry Police Report Oct. 15

October 13, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was informed by a concerned citizen of “a lot of mud left on the road” by “a farmer on 141” near Bouton. The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was alerted.
  • A caller said a tenant reported “someone sneaking into the attic and living there.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a local business said “there is a female there that is not dressed for the weather that is walking around outside, saying her husband is the building” and “making other wild claims.” An officer responded and transported the woman home.
  • A caller said the person “who has been leaving things behind their building was just seen going east” on a bicycle. An officer responded and made contact with the bicyclist.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “her neighbor came over and asked for a box of Christmas items that she had previously given to” the caller. The caller said she “had a cream-colored jacket on top of the box,” and “the jacket is now missing.” The caller said she “believes the neighbor took it.” An officer responded and made contact with the neighbor, who said she “did not take” the caller’s jacket but believed the caller “may have misplaced it.”
  • A caller said “a window on his vehicle was broken.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said the neighbors “were playing their music loudly.” An officer responded and “could hear music, but it wasn’t that loud.” The officer informed the neighbors “of the complaint, and they turned it down.”
  • A caller said his dog was lost.
  • A caller said the “neighbors in the apartment below are playing loud music.” Officers responded.
  • Paw Woo, 32, 1313 First Ave., #2, Perry, was arrested on a Des Moines Police Department warrant on a charge of failure to appear on an original charge of OWI.

October 14, 2018

  • A caller said “her neighbors downstairs have been fighting, and there is a lot of crying from the mom and the baby.” Officers responded.
  • A caller reported “a large, dead dog on Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded and moved the carcass off the roadway. The officer was “unable to locate calls in the last month of a dog matching the description.”
  • A caller said someone “had assaulted her three days ago,” but “she did not report it at the time.” The caller said the assailant “returned today and took her phone.” The caller said “the kids did not say anything when he came in becauee they are afraid of him.” Officers responded.
  • Lisa Marie Ward, 37, 2514 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for third-degree theft.
  • A caller “requested an officer respond to speak with her 13-year-old son, who is being problematic, yelling at her and not listening.”  An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “would not give her keys back to her vehicle.” Officers responded.
  • Dante Hernandez, 29, 411 Grove St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving while revoked and driving while suspended.
  • A caller said “she could hear rushing water in the sewer” and “was not sure if it was something that needed to be checked out.” An officer responded but “did not hear any rushing water.”

October 15, 2018

  • A caller “was threatening suicide” and “was pretty hysterical.” Officers responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
